Overview

J.McLaughlin is a specialty American Sportswear and Accessories brand headquartered in New York. J.McLaughlin has the reputation for being “local and loyal”, building meaningful relationships within each community and providing customers with highly personalized service. We are a growing company with a focus on our culture of kindness, cultivating an exceptional atmosphere in which to work and shop. This position will support the product development team with Produce Lifecycle Management, and any other special projects needed and monitor all domestic and international transportation to ensure that the company receives J. McLaughlin products into our warehouse safely and cost-effectively. This role is eligible for a remote work schedule.

About the role

Essential Functions:

Product Development responsibility;

• This position will be the PLM Super user
  • Creating Techpacks for apparel and accessories from start to finish
  • Creating Techpacks for fabrics
  • Managing finished goods costing in PLM and maintain the most up to date cost in the system
  • Adding product specification for Jmclaughlin website
• Supports production team with order placement and Aptos maintenance, and suggests solutions.
• Data maintenance in fabric spreadsheet
• Invoice filing.

Logistics responsibility;

• Works daily with factories, Production and Warehouse team for shipment bookings and updates, and suggest solutions with all transportation matters.
• Communicates strategy with freight forwarders for booking, freight updates, deliveries, and freight cost.
• Monitors international courier, duty drawback, customs clearance.
• Verifies US tariff HTS classifications.
• Updates duty & freight journal and forecast report daily.
• Aptos data maintenance
• Maintains documentation of all import/export and domestic shipments
• Ensures vendor/ shipping / customs compliance with all factories.
• Negotiates AIR and OCEAN freight forwarding rates.
• Report to management about shipment trends and costs.

What we are looking for

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelors degree preferred.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in Product Lifecycle Management
• 1 to 3 years of Garment and Accessories production experience required
• Must understand the components of finished goods costing that includes raw material, trims, duty, and freight
• Must understand garment and accessories specification
• Must be organized and efficient.
• Must have a great sense of urgency
• Must be detail oriented.
• Strong follow up skill
• Proficient in computer system, especially in Excel and PLM
• Ability to multi-task and communicate with many teams and departments.
