ABOUT THE ACCOUNTANT I

The Accountant I is primarily responsible for producing financial statements, adhering to accounting processes, and supporting the Manager of Accounting in performing accounting duties for multiple restaurant locations.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU MUST

  • Participate in fiscal period closings for the organization
  • Demonstrate recognizing and implementing efficiencies in accounting and financial close processes
  • Perform reconciliation of balance sheet accounts,
  • Ensure all bank accounts, record transfers, and adjustments are reconciled
  • Ensure accurate recording of journal entries
  • Prepare and reviews critical restaurant Profit & Loss (P & L) report
  • Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized manner
  • Ensure month-end accrual analysis/reporting is submitted on a timely manner
  • Ensure our sales and deposits are recorded correctly and timely
  • Review the general ledger detail
  • Identify trends, errors and reclass as needed
  • Prepare and provides annual audit schedules and supporting documents
  • Prepare variance, trend, and fluctuation analysis connected with actual results vs budgets, previous periods and previous year data reporting
  • Perform data mining of large sets of data and automates these processes
  • Support the Manager of Accounting with year-end financial audit
  • Assist with reviewing and managing compliance with Concur (Expense Reporting System)
  • Research accounting discrepancies and GAAP guidance/application as needed
  • Assist store leadership with questions and inquiries related to Profit & Loss statements, accounting processes and financial systems.
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting requests and projects
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Team and other Teams in the organization and responds to requests in a timely manner

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting and financial reporting experience in the restaurant industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and accrual basis accounting required
  • Proficient Excel skills required (Reference Look-up and formulas to automate tasks)
  • Experience with the following software: NetSuite, Toast and Concur Expense is preferred
  • Full-service restaurant accounting experience preferred
Salary Description
$62,000 to $67,000 base
