As we scale our business, we’re looking for a Controller to join our leadership team and drive operational excellence, financial discipline, and strategic growth.
About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Controller to lead the accounting function and partner directly with our executive team. This role is on-site at our Rocky River, Ohio office and responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, managing financial reporting, improving cash flow performance, and supporting our long-term growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the month-end close process across all entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Deliver timely financial statements and reports to leadership, investors, and lenders
- Maintain a 15-day close timeline and high standards for reporting quality
- Lead the preparation for audits and ensure a clean audit process annually
- Monitor, forecast, and manage cash flow; maintain 13-week rolling forecasts
- Partner with executive leadership to analyze profitability and support EBITDA growth initiatives
- Manage and mentor accounting team members and external partners
- Oversee debt compliance, covenant tracking, and support strategic refinancing or funding efforts
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting or controller role (multi-unit or franchise experience a plus)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Proven experience with audits, cash flow forecasting, and debt management
- Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive leadership style
- Strong communicator and team collaborator
