Job Overview
The Regional Fitness Manager (RFM) will oversee the fitness programming, team development, and membership growth for the region. This leader will oversee 4-7 studio fitness operations across the region. The RFM will manage the hiring, development, and retention of Head Coaches within their region, working to build a bench of talent for the company. The Regional Fitness Manager will report to the Area Director of Fitness or National Director of Fitness.
Responsibilities
The Regional Fitness Manager (RFM) will oversee the fitness programming, team development, and membership growth for the region. This leader will oversee 4-7 studio fitness operations across the region. The RFM will manage the hiring, development, and retention of Head Coaches within their region, working to build a bench of talent for the company. The Regional Fitness Manager will report to the Area Director of Fitness or National Director of Fitness.
Responsibilities
- Lead the fitness programming, fitness staff, and membership KPIs across 4-7 studio facilities.
- Maintain fitness acumen & community connections by leading up to 10 classes across designated region.
- Maintain outstanding team performance through routine 1:1 meetings, coach class evaluations, and member feedback outlets. (Listen 360, etc.)
- Monitor and achieve business Key Performance Indicators utilization, attendance, workouts, attrition, member traffic weekly.
- Provide routine fitness support, training, and guidance to franchisees across the region. (grand openings, studio launches, meetings, events, etc.)
- Maintain proper functionality, timely repairs for studio equipment, and ensure studio cleanliness at 2 deep cleans per month, per studio.
- Provide weekly email correspondence to team regarding events and business demands. Conduct weekly visits to set goals, discuss KPIs, review member class schedules, utilization, template rollouts, and ensure studio cleanliness.
- Plan, develop, and lead monthly Fitness & Sales meeting agendas, content, and logistics. (Regional Fitness mtgs, Sales/Fitness mtgs, template rollout, etc.)
- Actively champion and/or assist in the launch of all member engagement events and activities onsite & offsite.
- Assess the staffing needs and oversee recruiting, hiring, and fitness licensure/credentialing practices; serve as Head Coach for staffing vacancies or upon the business needs; plan and launch OTFIT training events. Ensure proper Onboarding & new hire training initiatives are being met for assigned studios.
- Plan and lead workshops to build greater knowledge, skills, and abilities in areas of fitness acumen, onboarding, and managerial skills. (rowing technique, strength & conditioning, recruiting, etc.)
- Requires 90% travel across designated region & occasional out of state travel.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Proven history achieving goals and thrives in a competitive, results oriented work environment.
- Proficiency in exercise physiology, body mechanics, and technique.
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity, honesty, and respect in all aspects of the role.
- High level of business acumen with a solid understanding of standard business principles.
- High energy, self-motivated and driven fitness professional.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and effectively complete duties and projects.
- Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer and employee situations.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, mobile applications, and other software systems.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
- Valid Fitness Certification from ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA & AFFA.
- Valid CPR/AED Certification.
- 3+ years of Orangetheory Head Coach duties, or personal training experience
- 3+ years of personal or group fitness experience
- 3+ years managing people toward high performance
Work Conditions
- Frequently walking indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Ability to bend, squat, reach, kneel, step, and stand on feet for extended periods of time.
- Routine high levels of noise within work environment.
- Ability to work flexible schedules as needed, including weekends and holidays.
- Routine travel within across region; quarterly travel out of state.
