About the Role:
The Operations Manager, Inventory Control holds a pivotal role in upholding the precision, trustworthiness, and compliance of inventory management and quality assurance processes in pharmaceutical fulfillment operations. Candidates must possess a robust background in pharmaceuticals, logistics, and inventory control practices. Responsibilities encompass overseeing inventory control and Inbound operations (receiving and stowing), quality assurance of fulfillment center functions, implementing process optimization strategies, risk mitigation, and ensuring SOX regulatory compliance within the fulfillment center.
You Will:
- Safety
- Advocate for safety programs and compliance to guarantee a secure work environment for all associates.
- Demonstrate proficiency in identifying root causes and implementing safety initiatives in response to incidents within the IC team.
- Work closely with safety leadership teams to enhance processes and ensure a safe work environment for all associates.
- Facilitate weekly safety meetings with IC leadership and hourly team members to pinpoint risks within the fulfillment center.
- Inventory Control and Inbound Operations:
- Identify potential risks associated with inventory inconsistencies, product quality, or process inefficiencies. Formulate and execute strategies to mitigate these risks and maintain operational continuity.
- Supervise inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, and audit procedures to uphold precise inventory levels. Identify and rectify discrepancies while implementing preventive measures.
- Deploy inventory control strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize losses, and ensure accurate inventory counts.
- Supervise inventory reconciliation processes, conducting regular audits and cycle counts to swiftly address any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to instill best practices in inventory management and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor inventory metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate performance and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
- Manage all receiving and stowing functions in the facility.
- Sox Compliance
- Thorough comprehension of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
- Proficiency in conducting and overseeing quarterly SOX counts.
- Creation of a counting timetable in alignment with parameters specified by the Director of ICQA to ensure adherence to our SOX compliance count deadlines.
- Reporting
- Create and deliver strategic insights, performance metrics, and initiatives to executive leadership. Communicate advancements, obstacles, and strategic developments.
- Formulate internal reports to bolster defect injection improvement efforts for the fulfillment center.
- Quality Assurance:
- Strategize and pinpoint root causes of inventory discrepancies, utilizing cause and effect analysis to devise solutions for the underlying inventory issues.
- Formulate and execute quality control protocols for pharmaceutical product receipt, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Perform routine inspections and quality audits to evaluate process quality, adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Guarantee compliance with relevant regulatory mandates, such as Good Distribution Practices (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP), and other applicable standards.
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Demonstrate proficiency in leading a team comprising of salaried area managers and up to 30 hourly associates.
- Initiate process enhancements and enhance team members' capabilities to accommodate our rapid expansion, while inspiring others and curbing employee turnover.
- Evaluate team members' performance, offering development, recognition, and guidance.
- Offer guidance and leadership to the ICQA team, promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and ongoing enhancement.
- Recruit, train, and nurture ICQA personnel, furnishing coaching, input, and performance assessments to bolster their professional advancement.
- Establish clear objectives and targets for the ICQA team, aligning their endeavors with organizational aims and strategic goals.
- Encourage collaboration across all FC/Pharmacy departments to facilitate root cause analysis for site-specific issues.
- Conduct shift scheduling and forecasting, and oversee task assignments, ensuring adequate staffing to achieve FC objectives.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Employ data analytics and reporting tools to examine key performance indicators (KPIs) linked with inventory accuracy, product quality, and operational efficiency. Utilize findings to make informed decisions and promptly address any discrepancies or irregularities.
- Spot potential opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency enhancements within the ICQA function.
- Take the lead or actively participate in ongoing improvement projects, implementing lean principles and methodologies to streamline processes, minimize waste, and increase productivity.
- Champion innovation and automation initiatives aimed at enhancing accuracy, scalability, and agility in inventory control and quality assurance operations.
You Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS) preferred.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in inventory management, quality assurance, or operations management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution, inventory control, quality management systems, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, FDA, CGMP, GDP).
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements, implementing best practices, and achieving operational excellence.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Certifications such as Six Sigma, Lean, or APICS (CPIM/CSCP) are a plus.

Conditions of Employment:
- This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.
- This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
- Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.

The actual amount will take into account a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and location.
