As the Director of Corporate Logistics, you will be responsible for leading the logistics operations for our company. You will oversee and manage the parcel, less than truckload (LTL), and truckload (TL) transportation for our company's products, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. In addition, you will be responsible for managing metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Parcel, LTL, and TL Logistics Management: Oversee and manage the logistics operations for parcel, LTL, and TL shipments. This includes managing carrier relationships, negotiating rates, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of shipments.
- Carrier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers to ensure that they meet service level expectations and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Route Optimization: Analyze shipment data to optimize transportation routes, reduce transportation costs, and improve on-time delivery performance.
- Cost Management: Develop and manage logistics budgets, monitor expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities to improve profitability.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies related to transportation and logistics.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring that they meet service level expectations and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Team Management: Lead a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and support and ensuring that team members have the resources and training necessary to perform their job duties.
- Metrics and KPI Management: Develop and manage metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of the logistics operations. This includes developing and tracking metrics related to transportation costs, delivery performance, and carrier performance.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity in the logistics operations.
- Customer Service: Work closely with customer service teams to resolve transportation-related issues and improve customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in logistics management, including experience managing parcel, LTL, and TL shipments.
- Proven track record of successfully managing logistics operations and reducing transportation costs.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and develop insights to optimize transportation routes and reduce costs.
- Experience managing teams and providing guidance and support to team members.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to resolve transportation-related issues.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience in managing metrics and KPIs related to logistics operations.
